I watched Modric live on Saturday night. In one 3 minute spell he made 5 first time passes, all forwards, none more than 15 yards.

Paqueta might want to keep an eye on him.

I see in several media outlets and on here people referring to Scamacca's goal as a CHIP?
iIts a LOB if an airborne ball is lifted over an opponent
A CHIP requires a ball to be on the ground and be lifted usually by kicking down on the ball

I’m always interested when posters on here actually know something about actual football technique and process. Can you expand on your post. Not that I’m in doubt but its more interesting than shouty imbeciles.

I'm no expert, but I've never seen anything on here that makes you look anything but a sad, attention-seeking bell-end. But them's the breaks, eh?

manuel - i post on here often and mostly football related rather then trying to get my kicks out of winding people up , your very sad mate i feel sorry for you tbh you yearn for acceptance from the group like you did back in school when all the kids called you fat and ugly , being bitter will not solve your depression mate

manuel if you watched or understood football you would see his potential is unreal , if you knew a strikers game you can tell this by his movement and hold up alone let alone his positional awareness in and around the box

I agree. Right now I see a top level number 9 doing what a top level number 9 should do. Good in the air, physical, good awareness, good hold up play, brings others into play and can finish. And for iu right now that's fantastic as we've missed that standard of number 9.

I think once he gets settled properly and understands the league and the tempo / physicality, he could be a 20 goal a season man. He looks like he has the ability to achieve that.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Fulham - Official Match Thread - Preview
I could have lobbed that over the keeper, and I'm not joking either, it was an easy finish, after missing a couple of sitters earlier. He's looked alright so far, for the money, but absolutely nowhere near 'special'. Now off you go and disagree.

'There is no doubt Scamacca is the better player by a distance- and possibly quite a special player as well, but it's not like it's easy to do the things he can do. Load of premier league players simply wouldn't have been able to score any of the three goals he's just scored for us, or indeed attempted the chip''

Massively over the top gushing praise that, in fact, embarrassing to read.

I'm impressed with Paqueta, first euro game he came on and ordered the midfield to move higher up the pitch, completely changed our dynamic.

I don't think we're going to see Paqueta adding a lot of goals to his tally. He doesn't strike me as really a goal-scorer. I think his assists will go up when everything starts clicking. The way he defends and presses, you could probably sub him for Soucek but I think he'll be more beneficial to us in the 10 role. He reminds me of a slightly more attacking Scotty Parker and a little less tidy.

Benny's issues to me are different than Paqueta. You can see what Paqueta is trying to do most of the time, and it's not always coming off. Benny gets into great spaces and chooses the wrong option so many times or dribbles out of possession. I'm not convinced he sees the field well enough for the final ball. He's so frustrating because there is so much promise up to that point.

No Antonio put the first one into the keeper because he wanted to give me the bit of enjoyment that was watching American Tim Ream knock over his that keeper.

Antonio should feature more in the euro games and we should use him as super sub in the PL. his days of 90 mins at this leve were looking over last season but he can still come in and impact from the bench, he’s still good for a few seasons in that capacity I reckon.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Fulham - Official Match Thread - Preview
I reckon we’re all misjudging Antonio’s lack of composure. Perhaps he intentionally played it off the keeper first because he knew it had hit his hand and as soon as it touches an opposing player it counts as next phase.
